The Jewish Joy Box is a quarterly subscription designed to help people connect to their Jewish identity through a shared of loved joyful Jewish books. Created in partnership with The Jewish Joy Book Club, each box features a newly released novel by a Jewish author and is paired with thoughtfully curated lifestyle items that celebrate Jewish storytelling and culture, while also supporting Jewish artists and small businesses.
In a world that too often reduces Jewish identity to trauma, we offer something different: Joy.

Hi Friends,
I’m Jean Meltzer, AKA “The Queen of Jewish Romance.” I'm passionate about Jewish stories with positive representation because I believe that there is power in seeing ourselves as heroes in our own narratives. l began Jewish Joy in the wake of October 7th, seeing antisemitism surge across the world, and watching Jewish creatives have their voices and livelihoods be threatened. I knew that our community, with its focus on Jewish pride, was needed on a much grander scale. I got to work, launching The Jewish Joy Book Club and The Jewish Joy Box--the world's first Jewish subscription book box--determined to move the needle on the sale of Jewish books that celebrated and uplifted Jewish life.
I'm pleased to tell you that in one year we've done some remarkable things together:
- purchased 1000+ books
- supported over a dozen Jewish brands and businesses
- hosted 50+ virtual events featuring authors, special guests, and businesses
- delivered boxes across the U.S.A. and to places as far away as Canada, Germany, Israel, and US military bases
- launched Jewish Joy Con and begun organizing Jewish creatives across fields
- accepted into the prestigious Upstart Venture Accelerator for Jewish social entrepreneurs
As a proud Jewish women, I believe there has never been a better time to celebrate being Jewish. As a brand, we're determined to support Jewish readers, authors, artisans, and small businesses. Through our bookclub, boxes, and in-person events, we offer new models of Jewish community for all who seek connection. May the seeds we plant here together, take root, and spread joy.
